Anykščių district Svėdasų Juozo Tumo – Vaižganto Secondary School (shortened name – Svėdasų J. Tumo – Vaižganto Secondary School, further – School) is a budget institution of the Anykščių Council having its juridical person‘s rights. The School owns its coat of arms stamp with the lettering “Anykščių rajono Svėdasų Juozo Tumo – Vaižganto vidurinė mokykla” and the blank with the School’s name on it.

                        The School was founded and started its work on the 1^st of September, 1865.

A good communicative atmosphere is created at school while sharing work experience, integrating the teaching material and creating projects. There is a very friendly atmosphere at school in order all the members of the community could feel safely and would be able to develop their own abilities. Today‘s challenges to education and culture are combined with the traditional values at our school. Alongside with the traditions that are upheld for many years , we can mention the tradition of the oath of the first – formers to be deserving of Vaizgantas‘s name, Vaizgantas‘s Birthday, traditional Catholic and school festivals (Teacher‘s Day, a Hundred – day Party, the festival of the Last Bell and others).
